Quick answer: In the UK, live Premier League football is on Sky Sports (at least 215 games) and TNT Sports (52), with free highlights on the BBC. The Champions League is on TNT Sports and Amazon Prime Video, and the EFL is on Sky Sports and Sky Sports+, with some free Championship games on ITV. Betting apps can’t stream the Premier League, Champions League or EFL in the UK, but several stream overseas leagues such as La Liga, Serie A and the Bundesliga, and almost all show a live match tracker and stats while you bet in-play.

Broadcast details from Flashscore, MoneySuperMarket, Sky Sports, Sportcal and the UK sports broadcasting contracts list, checked 7 November 2026. Saturday 3pm Premier League and EFL kick-offs are never shown live in the UK because of the blackout rule.

Can you watch football on a betting app?

Yes, but not every game. UK broadcasters hold the rights to the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and EFL, so bookmakers can’t stream those matches to UK customers. What they can stream is football from overseas leagues and selected European games. Most apps also give you a live match tracker, an animated pitch showing attacks, shots, corners and cards, plus live stats, on every in-play match, even when there’s no video.

Match trackers and live stats: watching without a stream

When there’s no video, a match tracker is the next best thing. It shows the ball moving between attack and defence, with alerts for dangerous attacks, shots, corners, cards and substitutions, alongside live stats such as possession and shots on target. That’s often enough to judge an in-play bet, especially on corners and cards markets. Compare the best in our in-play stats guide.

Tips for watching and betting at the same time

  • Streams can lag. App streams and TV pictures can be several seconds behind the live action, and odds can be suspended when something big happens.
  • Check your balance rules. Many apps only stream if you have money in your account or have bet in the last 24 hours.
  • Use cash out carefully. It can be suspended during key moments. See our cash out guide.
  • Set limits first. In-play betting is fast, so set deposit limits before kick-off.

Where to watch football FAQs

On Sky Sports, which shows at least 215 games, and TNT Sports, which shows 52, including the Saturday 12:30 kick-off. The BBC shows highlights of every game on Match of the Day.

Why can’t I watch the 3pm Premier League game?

Saturday 3pm kick-offs in the Premier League and EFL are blacked out in the UK to protect attendances, so they aren’t shown live on any UK channel or app.

What channel is the Champions League on?

TNT Sports shows most Champions League games in 2026/27, and Amazon Prime Video shows 17 Tuesday night games. Paramount+ takes over most games from 2027/28.

Where can I watch football for free in the UK?

The BBC shows FA Cup games and Women’s Super League games, ITV shows England men’s games and selected Championship and Carabao Cup games, and the BBC has Premier League highlights on Match of the Day.

Can I watch football on a betting app?

Yes, for some games. Apps such as bet365, Unibet and Paddy Power stream overseas leagues and selected European football, but not the Premier League, Champions League or EFL in the UK. Most need you to be logged in or to have a funded account.

Which betting app streams the most football?

bet365 and Unibet stream the widest range of overseas leagues, including La Liga, Serie A and the Bundesliga. Paddy Power and Betfair also stream selected football to logged-in customers.

What is a match tracker?

An animated pitch in a betting app that shows the action in real time, with live stats, so you can follow an in-play match without a video stream.
